Meditation works with the natural state of the human mind – at rest, Openness and alertness. As a regular practice, meditation helps the mind, to relax and find peace. It promotes the development of our inherent qualities of stability, Clarity and mental strength. At Shambhala we practice meditation as a personal path of exploration and as a means, to help ourselves and our world.

Retreat Center
Dechen Cöling
Dechen Cöling is in the middle of beautiful, rolling green hills and majestic, old trees near Limoges, France. It is the Shambhala community's European retreat center for deep practice and study.
It is a welcoming and hospitable place, where you will find a supportive environment, to learn and practice meditation and mindfulness. The beauty and fertility of the land nourishes the mind and body.
People from different generations meet in Dechen Chöling, countries and cultures. Dechen Chöling offers programs, that of meditation, Qigong and contemplative arts to advanced teachings.
